this mod is designed to increase the effectiveness of melee in higher difficulties by improving damage and area of effect on attacks, reducing sycn kill chance, and improving some power ranges.


Extended Mod Description

melee builds are fun but tragically impractical. despite melee itself having a disadvantage of requiring you to be close, the default game doubly punishes melee builds with sync kills, requiring the choice between melee damage and health, and poor dps compared to most power and weapon focused builds. This mod roughly doubles the damage of the light melee attacks of the various melee specialist characters and improves the range of close range powers significantly.heavy melee's have been massively strengthened in order to act like high risk high damage grenades (about 2000 to 2500 damage depending). I've played around with it on gold and platinum and while it does make melee a lot better it doesn't make it any less risky, just more rewarding .It also raises the limits on enemies hit at once for most melee attacks and close range powers. it doesn't do much to make melee builds more durable but hopefully it will make playing on gold and platinum more fun. it frees you from worrying about damage boosting equipment by giving a constant power boost. note that sycn kills have their chance reduced to 1% depending on enemy and difficulty but are not removed. collector enemies are unmodified if you ever want to challenge yourself. also improves power damage resistance from fortification barrier etc in order to account for actual damage resistance being about 70% of the listed value. so using them grants the actual resistance they were supposed to. exp- tech armor maxed for resistance gives 75% which after the .70 modifier becomes 50%. this gives a slight boost to class durability but it isn't very noticeable.
balanced vs a GI with a javelin 2 (maxed mods and lvl 3 booster) without using the mines damage bonus. compared to any well built infiltrator with a sniper damage is similar but area of effect on heavy melee's is better. this is counterbalanced by the natural risks of melee. sniping will still do much more damage if debuffs like warp or mines are used or maxed weapons taken into account.
-also undoes power combo and tac cloak nerfs


Wave compositions

This mod allows up to 8 enemies on the field at a time. Up to 2 enemies can be aggressive while berserk mode is not enabled.
