So, I got a DVD Release version of ME3 from a friend so I could try and find the cause of the infamous weapon mod collection bug.
Before I look any further, I'd like to verify that the early version doesn't have that bug though.
Sadly I can't actually launch the game because the release version exe has a release date check implemented so the game could not be played before release. Sadly the servers seem to be down after so many years, so I can't launch the game.
Using a newer exe simply doesn't let the game launch.
So my question is: Is there a way to avoid that date check?
I really want to try that version for the bug.
Thanks,

Avoiding Release Date check
Re: Avoiding Release Date check
Can you change your system time? You'd need to likely find a cracked original exe. The exe is encrypted by default so even if you could hex edit it, you'd need to find a way to decrypt it (dump from memory)
Newer exes require the patch 001.sfar.

Re: Avoiding Release Date check
Did it with a crack since the check doesn't use system time, but it tries to get the current date from an EA server that's not online anymore. Thanks anyways!
